Coaches of the 1969 Fighting Falcon Football Team
Information obtained in 2010 from Channelview Friends and Family web site members: Coach Anderson moved up from Asst. coach to Head coach in 1966. The year he became head coach, we went nine and one that year, but lost the district championship to Clear Creek the last game of the season. Probably the best season ever for Channelview. Coach Anderson passed away in Florida several years ago.
Coach Wade has retired from being Supt. at Rivercrest ISD. He lives in the Mt. Pleasant, Texas area and also in Colorodo part time. Coach Hooks was still active in coaching in West Orange, Texas last year. His football teams go to the playoffs each year. Coach Davis is alive and well in Bremond, Texas. His last teaching assignment was for the Hearne School District. He was in charge of the "special assignment class" (SAC) (which means that you were in big trouble if you were sent there).
